I am an American artist and the creator/owner of TatyDesignStudio Inc.
As a refugees escaping the Socialist Soviet Union regime my parents with my sister and I came to the United States .
I received my classic art education at the National Art Academy in Kiev,Ukraine.
Upon coming to NYC my education continued at Parsons School of Design and a New School for social research.
I joined artist community in NYC and painted portraits on the streets of Greenwich Village and participated in all sorts of art exhibits and mural painting. CBGB was a club to hang out and to be the part of the best music scene.
At the same time I was excepted to HB studio on Bank street and studied acting under Herbert Berkoff and Uta Hagen but my career as an actor ended there.
I also was fascinated with motorcycles and tattoos so I got a freelance job as an artist doing artwork on tanks , helmets and leather
at the "Dilligaf"motorcycle shop specializing at Harley Davidson bikes.
While traveling in Europe, I painted oil portraits for an artist and gallery owner, Pabolo De Caro, which included exhibitions at his gallery in Roma and Ladispoli, Italy.
Up on return toUSA I started creating prints for an apparel company. At this time, I met my mentor and a dear friend, Frances Rappaport, the creator and designer of Francesca of Damon, a luxury brand. I also painted fine art pieces for her and her husband, David's Private Collection. My creations included a hand painted armoire at Francesca's penthouse. As an artist and designer, Frances had a huge influence and impact on my
creativity and development .
I have created art for brands like Dior scarves, Ann Taylor ,Loft, Nordstrom,Lord and Taylor, Neman Marcus,Coldwater Creek.
Today I am fully dedicated to my passion- portraits. When I create a portrait
I emotionally connect with a soul of my object and become them so from the canvas is actually looking a soul or a spirit of the person.
